The trip starts on the banks of Lake Victoria in Entebbe where we get acclimatised to a new culture and a new way of life. Hotel No.5 is the perfect place to ease ourselves out of the busyness of everyday life before setting off towards the rainforests of Kibale.
We arrive to our next lodge perched on the edge of a massive volcanic crater lake. Ndali Lodge serves as our base for the next three nights and the perfect launch pad for meeting the chimpanzee. Two days will be spent trekking with these magnificent apes, and when not trekking we will be enjoying the views, silence and homely food that the lodge has to offer.
After the chimps we head to a little corner of Queen Elizabeth National Park called Ishasha, world famous for its tree climbing lions. The next two nights are spend at Ishasha Wilderness Camp and we go in search of the marvellous wildlife Ishasha has to offer.
Then it is off to our last destination and the highlight of the trip, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of Uganda's Mountain Gorillas. The three nights will be spent at Buhoma Lodge just outside the park and we will spend two days trekking with gorillas. As we melt into the forest in search of these great apes we are engulfed and dwarfed by the forest and the hour we get to spend with the gorillas on each trek will be among the most memorable hours of your life.
